Hey there,
After a few conversations with Roz about keeping in touch with SAB she
drafted this to send out on the members list asap.
I was wondering what you all think. I like it and could make a minor change
or two but I think it's great and I'd like to send a similar note to the
IWC internal list.
Is everyone one ok with this? are their more questions we'd like to ask or
less? feel free to change the wording etc.
I'm going to ask Andrea if she'd mind translating it to spanish (as not to
over load Nico... unless Cat's around?!?!) and we can get working on the
french version.
let me know your comments

Heya Dani/everybody! Voici a rough draft of a callout to go on the
members' list, please feel free to completely change/disregard if it's not
your style or what you wanted to say. yeah, I agree that translation into
Fr and Sp would be great if someone could take that on. Let me know if you
need any more help or input!
xox Roz.

PS - I am sure Nico is on the members list but I will add you!

THE MIGRANT JUSTICE DOCUMENTARY PROJECT WANTS YOUR INPUT!

Dear members of SAB,

The migrant justice documentary, which you may have seen at the launch
during Anti-Deportation Days, is nearing its way to completion, and we
would love to have your feedback.

*What is this documentary?*
With participation and collaboration with members of Solidarity Across
Borders, Immigrant Workers Center, Mexicans United for Regularization, No
One Is Illegal (? Cera, does this count?), the Temporary Foreign Workers'
Alliance, the documentary [*insert title here if available] *is aimed as a
popular education tool, to debunk the myth of Canada as a welcoming
multicultural country, but through the testimonies of migrants who have
struggled or are struggling today to remain in Canada, expose the cruel,
exploitative and unjust foundations of Canada and its immigration system.

It is our hope that members of SAB and its ally groups will be able to use
this tool to create discussion and conduct popular education activities
sharing its analysis, goals and demands.

*

*Right now, the documentary has people speaking in English, French, and
Spanish, but is only subtitled in English. We are working to have
subtitled versions in the other two languages. *

*What do we need from you?*
Most if not all of the filming is already completed, and we are now in the
editing stages. We have been getting and continue to welcome feedback as
we make the final cuts and changes.

Please check out the video at __________________ (password: _________) and
help us by answering the following questions:

*1) Do you have any comments (appreciations, or constructive feedback and
suggested changes?) about the film? *
*2) How do you see this documentary being used within and by SAB? How
could it be used for outreach?*

We would really appreciate your feedback, and while we will do our absolute
best there is no guarantee that we will be able to integrate all of your
comments (since there is so much that could make this documentary better
but are working with limited resources and time, and also because opinions
can even be contradictory!)

Thanks so much for taking the time to check this out!

In sol,

the Migrant Justice Documentary All-Star Team (haha just for me but you
don't have to keep this): (Bobak?), Cera, Danielle, Nico, and Otto
