JV Meeting minutes Monday 18th 2013

1.Budget Update:

-Questioning whether it makes sense to do a Vancouver shoot
-Probably renting and not buying a camera
-Budget has been revised but still flexible


2.Phone/communications budget line

-Getting a phone line, possibly a public mobile plan
-Setting money aside for telecommunications so that people can get reimbursed
if they need to
-Sarah and Otto to get a phone plan

3. Research plan and outreach

-Sharing research on Google drive
-Aaron to check for useful sharing software in order to share and tag articles
-Preparing research packets to share
-Mapping out existing relevant groups
-Talking to groups to figure out the research (outreach first)
-Brainstorm ideas: Security laws, trafficking laws, migration laws,
double punishment, migrant workers, sanctuary city, access to
services, temporary workers, Links between migrant and first nations
struggles

4. Aaron made a draft outreach email, if edits need to be made it has
to be done by tomorrow. Changes could be made on the document but
people can also contact Aaron if that doesn’t work. Translation to
Spanish and French to hopefully be made by Friday

5. Spread sheet to contact groups (groups to contact)

7. Wordpress is recommended for us in our current context, Cleve could
help train people. Danielle will update on this front and also in
terms of a possible workshop

8. Next meeting to be decided over doodle
