Solidarity Across Borders is organizing a press conference tomorrow morning
in support of Evelia Josefina Castrejon Santoyo, a Mexican woman currently
undertaking chemotherapy for level 3 ovarian cancer. Evelia is facing
deportation on December 10, 2013, International Human Rights Day, despite
her life-threatening medical situation. We are asking for a stay of
deportation so that Evelia can finish her cancer treatments here in
Montreal, as her oncologist has advised.

On November 21st, Ms. Ouacila Djemai, originally from Algeria, was given a
stay of deportation to finish her cancer treatments in Montreal, in a case
similar Evelia's current situation:
