Join Calvin Johnson and Lois Maffeo, who will share stories about the
International Pop Underground Convention as we approach its twenty year
anniversary. The convention was a six day event held in 1991 that featured
performances by local artists Beat Happening, Fitz of Depression, Bikini
Kill, Bratmobile and Some Velvet Sidewalk.

Saturday, June 11: *Alabama Governor George Wallace stands at the door of
Foster Auditorium at the University of Alabama in an attempt to block two
black students, Vivian Malone and James Hood, from attending that school.
Later in the day, accompanied by federalized National Guard troops, they are
able to register. 1963.

*1PM: Drone for Peace, *The Legislative Rotunda, 416 14TH ave. SW,
Drone for Peace in the Key of F: Performed in a variety of U.S. cities,
Drone for Peace is a sonic ritual performed by local artists, exploring the
key of F, aligning to the Heart Chakra. It manifests as a small ensemble of
string players and vocalists, and invites all willing and interested
participants from the Olympia community to collaborate and contribute to
global healing.

community. Our editorial collective meeting is Wednesday, 3-5PM at 816 Adams
St. SE, feel free to stop in for inquiries or to get involved.

To get your event or news item on our calendar or under our list of links:

responsible organization or features local artists then you are likely to
make it. Space is limited, if it is a continuous event then we may feature
it at a later date or if your groups event doesn't make the front listing
then it may make the back listings and we may feature your organization in
later issues.

or by e-mail us or going to our website. We currently go out to a private
moderated list of 1,700 people and only use the list once a week.
