Hallucination.

Chair of the Michigan Welfare Rights Organization, she has been in the
forefront of the fight to end poverty for over 20 years. She is known for
her work to end privatization and water shut offs for more than 45,000
Detroit homes. In Olympia this month Taylor will address economic change as
permanent, not simply a cyclical crisis. She will discuss MLK Jr.’s historic
Poor People’s Campaign, today’s struggles for Poor People’s Economic Human
Rights, and her vision for a future in which we provide for the many and not
just the few.

Alec Dunn, co-editor of the new journal “Signal,” will give a presentation
that looks at the intersection of art and protest. "Signal” is an ongoing
book series dedicated to documenting and sharing graphics, art projects, and
cultural expressions of international social movements. The slide show will
focus on some of the work in the book and the current intersection of
politics, art, and social movements. art and activism for nearly two
decades.  Mr. Dunn is an illustrator, amateur historian and printer from
Portland, Oregon. He has illustrated several books, designed record covers,
published the zine “Nosedive” and been involved in art and activism for
nearly two decades.

with each other, and share their preferences and concerns with the City.

*Media Island Weekly, is a product of Media Island International.

**Our goal is to engage Olympia residents in their community and in
supporting community events and progressive causes. We feel that change
begins at home and believe that a strong community is a well organized and
networked community. Our editorial collective meeting is Wednesday night,
7-10PM at 816 Adams St. SE, feel free to stop in for inquiries or to get
involved.

To get your event or news item on our calendar or under our list of links:
E-mail us, weekly(at)mediaisland(.)org. If the event benefits a socially
responsible organization or features local artists then you are likely to
make it. Space is limited, if it is a continuous event then we may feature
it at a later date or if your groups event doesn't make the front listing
then it may make the back listings and we may feature your organization in
later issues.

To get on our listserve you can sign up by clicking the link on the bottom
or by e-mail us or going to our website. We currently go out to a private
moderated list of 850 people and only use the list once a week.

We are a 501c3 registered non-profit and would love for you to donate time
or money. We would also like to hear your feedback and hope you get involved
with any of the many wonderful community organizations that we support.*
