Halloo all,
hope you are well
In researching plumbing, there have been some concerns raised. Before we
sign the lease, I think we need to do the following...
if not, I think we risk getting way in over our head (i.e. flooding the
building, or spending way too much, or some legal trouble for interrupting
business of the people on the upper floors, or just not having running
water)
1) I want to ensure we can get into the space to see the state of plumbing
before signing the lease, make sure what is there is up to code so we can
pass inspection.
2) specifically want from the landlord:
a. blueprints of the space & where existing plumbing vents and drains are
located.
b. placement of main water shut-off and how/where we get access - we need
to be sure we can work on plumbing when water to our floor is cut off. If
we cannot shut off water to one floor, and instead must shut it off to the
entire building, we have to have the landlord negotiate a week of
water-shut-off time for the entire building.
d. placement of main water supply into the space
e. placement of water meter - do we need one for our own space or is it one
for the building?
Thanks all,
Lo
