A special message from Carole James, Leader - BC NDP



Dear friend, 

I wanted to take a moment to share with you how amazing the past three weeks have been. I have met thousands of British Columbians from every corner of the province, who, like you, are ready for a new kind of leadership. Everywhere I go I have been touched by people's energy and generous spirit.

And I also want to say thanks for all the hard work and support. When we had only two NDP MLAs against 77 Liberals, we relied on people like you. Together we held Campbell to account and fought back against his extreme agenda. With your help, we are now closer than ever to stopping the Campbell Liberals. We truly couldn't have gotten this far without you. 

But with less than a week left in the election, we need your help one more time. 

The Campbell Liberals have made it clear they will do everything they can to make people forget the past four years of broken promises and heartless cuts. 

We can't let them run from their record and how their cuts have hurt people. We've seen stories in the news like the young Burnaby woman I met who went for an appendectomy a few weeks ago. What should have been a routine, overnight procedure turned into a nightmare of infections, extreme illness, and continuing complications from her stay in a dirty, over-crowded hospital. The bathroom was filthy, the toilet never clean. The trash was overflowing every day and the bed sheets were not changed for six days.

Do we really want another four years of this kind of uncaring government?

And Mr. Campbell hasn't owned up to his broken promises either. He still insists that he didn't sell BC Rail! If that's the kind of answer we can expect from Gordon Campbell, what can we expect him to do to BC Hydro? Or ICBC?  Make no mistake - everything is up for sale. 

Imagine what else he could do if he got another four more years? 

Time is running out and we need to make our last and strongest push to defeat the Campbell Liberals. In the last week, we need more leaflets, more posters, and more TV ads so we can reach every single British Columbian. We can't let Gordon Campbell buy his way into four more years of power.
