Debate 2005: Campbell still will not own up to broken promises
May 17th is fast approaching and we need to keep up the momentum
What a performance!
Gordon Campbell spent the one-hour leaders' debate exactly the same way he spent the last four years - a lot of ducking and dodging with no real answer to his one-sided agenda.
When Carole asked him point blank about the BC Rail giveaway - he refused to give a straight answer.
He failed to admit to any of his broken promises. He wouldn't answer for all of the suffering that his cuts to health and long-term care have caused.
In 2001, Gordon Campbell showed British Columbians that he would say anything to get elected. But when he got into the Premier's office, he cut health and education, he cut support services for the most vulnerable.
He said he wanted to "rebuild trust" in government, but after his long list of broken promises, how can British Columbians trust him for another four years?
What's next, privatizing BC Hydro and ICBC?
Friends, we simply cannot allow his whitewash tactic to work again.
That's why I'm asking you to support the BC NDP election campaign. Gordon Campbell was on the defensive last night and we need your support right now to keep up the momentum.

Gordon Campbell's performance showed clearly why we need a different vision for British Columbians.
We need to elect New Democrats to stand up for the issues that really matter: health care, education and a fair economic deal for all British Columbians.
The final two weeks of this campaign will be about the differences between Carole James' inclusive approach on BC's tough problems, to do what's right for all British Columbians, and Gordon Campbell's mean-spirited, one-sided approach that leaves average families paying more and getting less.
But May 17th is fast approaching. And we need to get down to work like never before. We need to print more leaflets, buy more ads, and get out on doorsteps to keep the momentum and defeat one of the most extreme governments in B.C. history.
Carole needs your help and mine to make sure there are the resources we need to spread our positive message for this province.
Let's tell Carole that we believe in a more positive future for every person in BC by making an election-day donation. Click here to make a secure online donation to the BC NDP:
