Hey folks,
Thanks everyone for responding and have taken it as an endorsement as well.
Below is the call-out for the event. Please let me know what you think of
tone / msging etc. and if it is ok. We are waiting to confirm one more
speaker that can cover the environment and/or indigenous concerns. Have a
few emails out but suggestions are welcome as well.
Also, in terms of support we would basically need some folks on hand to
perhaps help table for the event, help with outreach (probably biggest
task) and some ideas perhaps about how we get people to plug in and what we
can do next. I'm hoping Jan 1st can take some time to maybe think about
getting individuals that are interested to plug into some organizing.
Thoughts?

Dismantling the Trans-Pacific Partnership
Public Educational on the TPP & other so called “Trade Agreements”
December 8th at 6:30 pm
SFU Harbour Center, Room 7000
Vancouver, Coast Salish Territories
On Facebook:
This event is being sponsored and endorsed by the Council of Canadians,
January 1st Collective, SFU Institute of the Humanities and Stop TPP
Join us on December 8th to learn more about one of the largest multilateral
corporate rights agreements being pursued by the Canadian government along
with growing list of 11 other countries. The success of large multilateral
agreements, like the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), has been limited in
large part because of popular opposition. We can build similar opposition
to the TPP beginning by educating each other about the agreement.
The text has been released and we will continue to learn more about how far
reaching agreement impacts different levels of government, indigenous
communities, public health, migrants, the environment, internet freedom,
food systems and much more. A panel presentation will be speak on what we
know so far as well as the serious concerns raised more broadly by these
agreements, how they are developed and who they aim to serve.
