Hi Harjap, hi January 1st collective,
I'm writing you on behalf of the Media Co-op <http://www.mediacoop.ca/about>,
which I think you're familiar with--we are a grassroots news co-operative
committed to covering stories related to social and environmental justice
across Canada.
Our national fundraising coordinator, Roddy Doucet (cc'ed here), is
valiantly trying to expand the reach of our bi-weekly newsletter, which
keeps people updated on what's going on at the Media Co-op and
includes a "Month
in Review <http://dominion.mediacoop.ca/story/december-review/20606>" of
grassroots news highlights from across the country. He's asked me to think
of people I know in the Vancouver area who have access to mailing lists
filled with people that might be onside with independent media. I don't
know if the Jan 1st Collective is still active or maintains an on-going
mailing list, but I thought of you and wanted to check!
We are wondering if your group might be interested in sharing some info
about the Media Co-op with your networks, via a newsletter, social media,
or on a website -- for example, we could provide a short pitch saying who
we are and letting people know how they can sign up for our newsletter
(i.e. not a pitch asking for money.)
Would this be something the Jan 1st collective might be able to help us out
with? Feel free to let me know & Roddy know if there's another individual,
or another group, you think we should follow up with. And of course, no
pressure!
Hope this finds you well!
Thanks,
Nat Marshik
