Hi Edgar,
Apologies for the delays. We had our meeting on Saturday with part of the
collective, and we decided (though we have another meeting later today with
the rest of the crew) that we want to do something, but we don't quite have
the capacity to do a big public event. One of the ideas floating around was
that instead of hitting the streets, we'd organize a potluck gathering to
talk about the issues and plan further actions with other collectives and
groups that we want to build stronger connections with. Part of the idea is
that these trade agreements will come and go, but the real enemy is
capitalism, which seeks to destroy communities. So putting effort in
building community can be a powerful tool against it all. Kinda romantic
and poetic but that's where we're at hah
We may brainstorm some ideas today and come up with some low-capacity
action, and keep you in the loop. Have you decided what will you do there?
Would you be up for having a potluck, planning and get-to-know-each-other
kinda session with us? We could maybe alternate and do one here and one
over there... I'd love to come visit you guys and learn more about the work
and situation over there!
Hope you're good, and please pass on hugs and buena onda to everyone there
:-)
