Hey guys,

I'm just fwd'ing this email from Edgar, down in Bellingham, just in case
you want to skim over it. They've invited us to participate on this, so
perhaps we can consider this or keep it in mind for our meeting. I wonder
if we can invite him to our next potluck?

>From reading the summary, I would say that everyone is invited. I would
however caution that we should be pretty intentional about getting RSVPs so
we will have a good estimate of numbers. I will be checking with 1st
Unitarian in the next day or 2. I am think that we are looking at a group
of 30-50. Does that sound right? Greg

Couple of additions to outreach:

*Economic Issues/Equity- - Portland Solidarity, Portland Rising, Climate
Jobs Committee [also under labor and environment], OPAL [transportation],
Oregon Action*

*International Solidarity- Include global trade? ORFTC, JWJ Global Justice
committee, Grassroots Global Justice. Progressive Faith- JWJ Faith and
Labor Committee.*

Would this Event be open to all the NW organizations or just the Oregon
Folks?

NW Social Forum Open House

Late March/Early April 2014, ideally Saturday April 5th
12-4pm

This is a rough agenda that Adam and Tim brainstormed for the proposed
event, we all need to refine it suggestions are welcomed.

Goal of the event is two-fold, invite organizers to be part of the
organizing process and asking if they want to help bottom line a PMA on
their area of struggle, and in the process get the word out to
organizations and their members that the NWSF is happening and solicit
their involvement in working groups. People who are members of the general
public who aren't already involved in an organization are welcome to come
to the event and join working groups or otherwise become involved. It is
primarily aimed at getting people in the Portland community excited and
involved, but like Bellingham there will likely be a lot of regional
involvement and collaboration. The list of groups to contact is very
Portland heavy, because those are the groups we are familiar with, if other
have suggestions please add them.

*Proposed Schedule:*

Intro to what a PMA is- David could send one of his people, maybe Monica
could assist as well. We could also tape David explaining what a PMA is and
play it.

Introduction to working groups for NWSF organizing: Outreach, fundraising,
etc. Ask if people are interested in joining groups, possible breakouts.

Then a couple of suggestions of what we could do for next activity.

One. Do a "teaser PMA" similar to the one in Tucson, to let people get
familiar with the process.

Two. Break out groups to discuss themed PMAs either led by groups who would
act as anchor for that PMA, or deciding who would be the lead groups in the
break out session. For this we would need to arrange people who are
competent facilitators to assist the breakout groups and record ideas.

Three. Have space for discussion of regional coordination by core
organizers from different cities.

Or we could do all three, I think we need to have everyone determine this,
Adam and I can't make the decision. What are people's thoughts on the
program?

*Tasks we need to do:* finalize schedule of event, write blurb, make a
website, create facebook page, contact a lot of groups about participating,
finalize outreach materials for this event and the overall NWSF

Adam expressed interest in helping with website, blurb and Facebook page.

*We need to set up a place to have people submit their ideas online,
request for proposals as to what themed PMAs we will hold. Either by issue
or project proposal.

*Have Greg Check availability of 1st Unitarian. *Ideally the 5th of April,
the 12 or 13th*, Check for big room on ground level off of Salmon.
