Hey folks,
Building on Alexandra's point, if we could remind/encourage the endorsing
groups to circulate the event info out over their mailing lists, that'd be
great, too.
Can whoever has connections in the endorsing groups do this (I'm copying
the blurb in below)? I already sent reminders/requests for circulation to
three of the groups today (the ones who sent their endorsement directly to
the Jan. 1 account): VMC, Rising Tide, and Community to Community
Development.
One more thing. I'm on my way out of town, and may be less connected for
the next couple of weeks. I'll aim to continue checking the jan1collective
Gmail account over the holidays, but if someone who'll be in Vancouver can
keep an eye on it, too, that'd be great.
Alex
Here's the list of endorsers from the FB event:

Almost two decades have passed since Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) were the
hot topic, when the incredible resistance to the World Trade Organization
at Seattle covered front pages across the globe, and the Zapatistas of
Chiapas, Mexico were on everyone’s minds. Even the powerful music and
message of Rage Against the Machine seems like ancient history!
But two decades have not been enough to normalize the almost complete
destruction of our social safety nets (health care, education, unemployment
insurance programs), the impoverished living and working conditions that
are constantly getting worse, and the general dispossession that thousands
of people across North America and the rest of the world have endured due
to these agreements.
Two decades of FTAs have also meant two decades of resistance, and on
January 1st, 2014 we’re celebrating that we’re still here, re-building our
communities.
Bring your friends, family, comrades and join in on this international day
of action!
