Hey everyone
Here's some text for the facebook event for the next RRFM which I would like to create tomorrow. Please have a look at the text and make changes, corrections and so on.
A
We’re doing it again! After a really really successful first-ever
Really Really Free Market in Cape Town we are having another one on Sunday 13
December at Zandvlei in Muizenberg from 1pm to 4pm.
If you were at the first event, you already know how it works. The concept is
really simple: if you have anything to share - things that you no longer use
and that are clogging up your garage, your hair cutting skills or anything else
you can think of - then bring them along.
The only restriction: everything has to be 100% free. No swapping, no bartering
and no money involved...
At the previous Really Really Free Market people brought lemonade,
a delicious curry, tuna burgers, crunchies, clothes, books, toys and all sorts
of other items, all to be given away as gifts to whoever wanted them.
But you don’t have to bring physical objects. If you’re
in a band or play the tuba, why not hold an impromptu mini-concert? If you do
Tarot readings or can teach someone to knit, then why not do that? Organise a
treasure hunt for the kids or perform a puppet theatre play. The only limitation
is your own creativity and if you’re inspired to do something ... just do it!
Where? Next to Zandvlei, on the large grassy bit on the
east side of the vlei where the kite festival normally happens. There are
detailed directions below and some maps in the photo section.
This event is open to anyone - so bring your kids and
grandparents - and it's organised by the participants themselves, including
you. There won't be any "official stalls" and things (unfortunately
there are no toilet facilities or electrical supplies, either). It will simply
be whatever all of us make of it, so bring some blankets and join us for a
relaxed afternoon.
