Hi everyone:

This is Tony Gracey from the Indigenous Solidarity 3906 Working Group. I
just wanted to give everyone on this list a quick update on the status of
the group, although I think most of the people on this list are already
familiar with the work the group has been doing.

Meetings have been happening on a bi-weekly basis for the last few months
as our members have been busy working on Line 9 issues with indigenous and
non-indigenous communities along the corridor this oil pipeline runs. For
those of you that don't know, Line 9 is an incredibly risky move by the oil
corporation Enbridge to reverse the oil flow of this pipeline. This
pipeline runs though indigenous territories and ecologically-sensitive
areas and poses serious threats to both if its reversal were to get
approval. Google 'Kalamazoo River oil spill' for evidence of why people
should be concerned.

In our meetings we have also talked about funding requests we receive from
numerous organizations, and we have tried to have broader discussions about
the principles and values that guide the group's work.

If you'd like to learn more, we have a meeting this coming Tuesday. Please
contact me for the details. Stay tuned for more regular updates on this
list about the group's work, and please join us for meetings in the future
if you can.

Thanks,

Tony
