Greetings 3906,

In July 2014 members of the Grassy Narrows First Nation's Women's Drum
Group will be coming to Toronto for the 2014 River Run to pressure the
government of Ontario to address the longstanding health impacts of mercury
contamination and the continuing threat posed by clear-cut logging in the
traditional territory of the Grassy Narrows First Nation.

Supporting the Women's Drum Group in organizing the River Run is a group of
Toronto-based activists called Earth Justice Action and today I'm writing
to you as a representative of this group to ask for CUPE 3906's support for
River Run 2014. We are seeking to raise $25,000 to cover the costs of the
event and are hoping to bring as many  supporters to the various events
that constitute River Run 2014.

Please see the attached documents for more details about our plans, our
budget, and letters of support from the Grassy Narrows Women's Drum Group
and Grassy Narrows Chief Roger Fobister. Any support that you can provide
would be appreciated.
