Hello everyone:
I will send Malissa the report now. I have written this below. Hope people
are okay with it. I'll send it along and if there are any issues I'll
contact Malissa again to see if she wouldn't mind changing things.
One last thing. Not sure if you sent the cheque already, Jess, but
Jaroslava gave me these details for it - they are below this paragraph.
Unfortunately I didn't check the account sooner or I would have seen that.
I do recall I think you said in a previous email you had already sent the
cheque to her. Can you confirm and let me know and then I can get back to
her if there are any issues? Thanks.

The last two months have been extremely busy for the Indigenous Solidarity
Working Group. We have been maintaining our bi-weekly meeting schedule,
although we took some time off during the holiday break. Prior to the break
we hosted a well-attended workshop on December 7th, 2013 in which a group
of about 15 activists came together to have a discussion about the stories
we tell each other and we have heard within a colonial context such as
Canada's. We are now in the final stages of planning our third workshop in
the series which we will hold sometime in February. The topic of discussion
will be language, power and colonialism. We encourage all members who have
an interest in solidarity work that broadens the union's influence within
the community to contact the Indigenous Solidarity Working Group (
iswg3906 at gmail.com) for more information. Aside from this work, our group
was also involved in some planning of a couple coordinated actions in
support of the Elsipogtog Mi'kmaq nation and their allies, work we plan on
continuing in the New Year. Our group was also busy coordinating donations
for other people doing similar work as the ISWG. One for one hundred
dollars to the Women's Coordinating Committee for a Free Mapuche (WCCC) who
hosted an event in support of Elsipogtog and another for Unity Camp, a
direct action camp north west of Toronto seeking to reclaim land through
collective action. That donation was for 200 dollars. We look forward to a
busy 2014 and we encourage any and all members of 3906 to get involved with
the ISWG in the future.
