Joignez-vous à nous pour une pleine journée de formations (de tous les
niveaux) sur la résistance anticolonialiste.



On observe depuis plusieurs mois une résurgence des mouvements de
résistance pour la souveraineté et l'auto-détermination autochtone. Les
autochtones de l'ile de la tortue ont toujours résisté la colonisation;
depuis le début de l'invasion européenne et tout au long des 200 ans de vol
de terres et de génocide qui sont au coeur de la fondation du Canada.
L'écho de cette résistance est aussi porté par des peuples autochtones de
par le monde qui vivent la migration forcée aux mains de corporations
Canadiennes et le gouvernement néolibéral qui les sert.



Cette série de formations a été organisée pour que nos mouvements puissent
activement participer et appuyer ces efforts de décolonisation. À présent,
toutes les formations sont organisées par des groupes et individus
anticolonialistes surtout allochtones.

** Le P.Q., colonialisme, et les mouvements socials actuels au Québec*

Par sa portée, le mouvement étudiant questionne presque tous les aspects de
la société québécoise. Il fut un acteur central de la remise en question
des enjeux coloniaux du Plan Nord, pilier politique du gouvernement
Charest. Dans l'agenda néo-libéral d'austérité qui impose la
marchandisation de l'éducation, on retrouve l'exploitation débridée des
ressources naturelles et l'assimilation des communautés autochtones. Dans
la gouvernance nationale des péquistes, ces mêmes thèmes sont encore
d'actualités. Voici une occasion de parler de comment, à partir d'un
mouvement social appartenant à une société coloniale, nous pouvons intégrer
les enjeux de solidarité avec les autochtones et de lutte anticoloniale. Un
atelier presenté par des membres du Collectif de Solidarité Anti-Coloniale





** Atelier d'introduction à la décolonisation*

*(13h – Salle H-763 -- EN)*



La «décolonisation» est un processus par lequel les structures du
colonialisme, ses mentalités et ses pratiques contemporaines sont
démantelés; par cette résistance au colonialisme, des peuples autochtones
peuvent reprendre ce qui leur est volé. Cet atelier explorera plusieurs
significations de la décolonisation, et discutera des théories et des
moyens pratiques par lesquels elle est mise en action.  Cet atelier est
organisé par des colons, non autochtones, et sera centré sur les moyens que
peuvent utiliser les alliés des autochtones pour participer aux luttes de
décolonisation. La discussion sera facilité par les membres non autochtones
du Collectif de solidarité anticoloniale.





** Notre Solidarité: Un Territoire à Decoloniser*

InspiréEs par les defis rencontrés dans l'organizsation d'un projet
d'accompagnement en Colombie, des militantEs du PASC partagent leur analyse
des rapports, sous l'angle des privilèges solidaires "Nord-Sud" et des
rapports de pouvoir inhérents à ces rèseaux en vue proposer une solidarité
anti-coloniale. Présentés par le Projet d'accompagnement solidarité
Colombie (PASC).





** Le développement industriel sur le Nitassinan: une histoire de
dépossession des Innus*

*(15h -- Salle H-763 – FR)*



Cet atelier présentera une petite historique des projets d'exploitation des
ressources naturelles qui ont marqué les dynamiques coloniales des 60
dernières années chez les Innus de Uashat mak Mani-utenam et Matimekush
Lac-John/Schefferville. L'objectif est de mieux comprendre le contexte
actuel des projets d'exploitation sur le Nitassinan (la territoire des
Innus), les mécanismes de dépossession et les idéologies du développement
qui les sous-tends. La présentation sera suivi d'une discussion.





** « Nos terrains de lutte » : Lutter contre l'Apartheid mondial et les
frontières *

*(15h – Salle H-762 – EN/ES)*



Cet atelier multimédia parcourra la recherche et les expériences servant de
base pour une analyse dite « personne n'est illégale » ou « no border ».
Parmi ses conclusions : tous les contrôles frontaliers sont
fondamentalement racistes; tous les états-nations sont oppressifs par
nature; tout être humain détient le droit autonome de migrer, de résister
aux déplacements et de revenir. Par opposition aux notions imposées de «
race » ou de « communauté », nous luttons pour revendiquer des identités
auto-définies. Dans un contexte d'Apartheid mondial, de réels défis sont
posés à la pratique du militantisme, situé sur un « terrain de lutte » qui
est enraciné dans une réalité de résistance à l'oppression vécue au
quotidien. Presenté par des membres de Personne n’est illégal, en
collabaration avec un membre autochtone de Mexicains unis pour la
régularisation (MUR).

In the last several months we've seen a resurgence of grassroots struggle
for Indigenous sovereignty and self-determination. Indigenous peoples
across Turtle Island have always resisted colonization, from the beginnings
of European settler invasion, through over 200 years of land theft and
genocide that the nation of Canada was built upon. This resistance has been
echoed by Indigenous peoples throughout the world, who face displacement at
the hands of Canadian corporations and the neo-colonial governments that
serve them.



This series of workshops has been organized so that together we can learn
how these struggles are connected, and so that our movements can actively
support and participate in decolonization.

*WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS*



** The P.Q., colonialism, and current social movements in Quebec*

*(10am – Room H-763 – FR/EN)*



Within its means, the student movement called into question almost all
aspects of Quebec society. It was a central actor in the process of
critiquing the colonial issues of the Plan Nord - political pillar of the
Charest government. Within the neo-liberal agenda of austerity that imposes
commercialization of education, we find the unconstrained exploitation of
natural resources and the assimilation of indigenous communities. Under the
governance of the P.Q., these same themes are still ongoing. This will be
an occasion to talk about how, starting from a social movement rooted in a
colonial society, we can integrate the concerns of indigenous solidarity
and anti-colonial struggle.





** "Unsettling and Decolonizing: An Introductory Workshop"*

*(1pm – Room H-763 – EN)*



"Decolonization" describes a process by which the ongoing structures,
practices, and mindsets of colonialism are dismantled, and Indigenous
peoples restore what colonialism has wrongfully denied them. This workshop
will discuss different meanings of decolonization, and explore ways that
theories of decolonization are, and can be, put into action. This workshop
has been developed by non-indigenous settlers, and will have a particular
focus on the ways settler allies can participate in decolonization. The
discussion will be facilitated by non-indigenous members of the
Anti-Colonial Solidarity Collective.





** Our Solidarity: A Territory to Decolonize*

*(1pm – Room H-762 – FR)*



Inspired by the challenges encountered while organizing their accompaniment
project in Colombia, activists from the PASC share their analysis of
privilege, building a "North-South" solidarity, the power relations
inherent to these networks, and providing an anti-colonial solidarity.
Presented by the Projet d'accompagnement solidarité Colombie (PASC).





** Industrial Development in Nitassinan: A History of Dispossession of the
Innu*

*(3pm -- Room H-763 – FR)*



This workshop will present a brief history of natural resource extraction
projects that have defined the colonial dynamics imposed on the Innu of
Uashat mak Mani-utenam and of Matimekush Lac-John/Schefferville for the
last 60 years. The purpose is to better understand the current context of
extraction projects in Nitassinan (Innu territory), as well as the
mechanisms of dispossession and the ideologies of development that uphold
them. The presentation will be followed by a discussion.





** "Our Terrain of Struggle": Migration, Borders and Global Apartheid *

*(3pm – Room H-762 – EN/ES)*



This multi-media presentation will explore the research and lived
experiences that ground a "no one is illegal/no borders" analysis. Among
the conclusions: all border controls are fundamentally racist; all
nation-states are inherently oppressive; all human beings have the
autonomous right to migrate, to resist displacement, and to return; and, in
opposition to imposed notions of "race" or "community", we struggle to
assert self-determined identities. In a context of global apartheid, there
are very specific challenges for grassroots organizing on a shifting
terrain of struggle that is rooted in the lived reality of those who daily
confront oppression.  Presented by members of No One Is Illegal-Montreal in
collaboration with an Indigenous member of Mexicans United for
Regularization (MUR)
