No One Is Illegal Radio reports about the frontline struggles for justice,
dignity and self-determination by migrants, refugees and indigenous peoples.
The shows airs monthly on the first Thursday of every month, as part of
CKUT’s Off the Hour (90.3 FM in Montreal, www.ckut.ca).

DECEMBER 2009
- UWHANAHEENAY & OJISTORI:YO: Uwhanaheenay and Ojistori:yo (Melissa Elliott)
are father and daughter, and both are residents of Six Nations in
southwestern Ontario. They have both been active and vocal in resistance to
the Olympic Torch Relay that will be passing their territory on December 21,
2009. Melissa Elliott has been mobilizing with youth of the community
against the Torch Relay and is the co-founder of Young Onkwehonwe United.

- GORD HILL: Gord is an artist and organizer who has been active with the
Native Youth Movement and other groups. He is a main contributor to
www.no2010.com as well as Warrior Publications, and is active with the
Olympic Resistance Network of the Coast Salish Territories. He currently
resides and organizes in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver. (14:23)
- MIRANDA DICK: Miranda is a mother of 5, a part of the Secwepemc Women’s
Council, and a Warrior for the Land and People. The Secwepemc people from
the interior of “British Columbia” have resisted the Sun Peak’s ski resort
on their territory. (16:49)

- TAMARA HERMAN and ZOE BLUNT, members of No 2010 Victoria, speak about the
disruptions in Victoria, BC of the Olympic Torch Relay. Local activists and
organizers have come together under the slogan “No Olympics on Stolen Native

- SYED HUSSAN, a member of No One Is Illegal-Toronto, speaks about proposed
changes to Temporary Work programs for migrants in Canada, which continues
the trend of making migrant workers' status more precarious. (13:10)
- ADIL CHARKAOUI was living under a draconian security certificate since
2003, but was recently completely vindicated. No One Is Illegal Radio
presents an exclusive interview with Adil. (17:47)

OCTOBER 2009
- ABOUSFIAN ABDELRAZIK was arrested on the recommendation of the Canadian
Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) while on a visit to Sudan. Never
charged, he was beaten and threatened during two periods of detention, which
included CSIS interrogations. After his sixth year in exile, the government
was finally forced by the Federal Court to allow Abdelrazik to return to
Canada. This past September 24, 2009 he spoke out publicly for the first
time, and we hear from his talk on this edition of the show. (17:39)
- CHRISSY SWAIN is a youth from the Anishnabe First Nation of Grassy Narrows
in the midst of a 1800 km journey from Grassy Narrows to Ottawa – the 2nd
Walk for Mother Earth -- to raise awareness about issues around indigenous
sovereignty and self-determination. We hear an extended interview with
Chrissy during her walk. (21:53)
