[IPSM] Two Indigenous Anti-Olympic Organizers coming to Montreal

two indigenous anti-Olympics organizers/artists are coming to Montreal around the time of the bookfair (in two weeks!). they are Gord Hill and Angela Sterritt. more info about them below. they will be doing a presentation at the bookfair on may 17, gord will be doing a workshop on anarcho-indigenism on may 18, and they will both be showing their art-work on both days. also, a community event with them is planned at the Native Friendship Center of Montreal on May 20.
if you can help with these efforts (including fundraising the help pay their tickets and other expenses), please attend a short meeting to discuss some logistics this FRIDAY (May 2) at 5:30pm at QPIRG-Concordia (1500 de Maisonneuve Ouest, #204), OR, get in touch by e-mail at jaggisingh at gmail.com in case you can't make the meeting.

Angela Sterritt is a grassroots organizer, artist and writer who belongs to the Gitxsan Nation of the Gitanmaax band. She critiques the oppression that is inherent in colonial capitalist society and works to chronicle the struggles and resistances of her people back home and in the city through her art and writing. She currently works with the Indigenous People's Free Skool, the International Indigenous Youth Network and the Native 2010 Resistance. Gord Hill, Kwakwaka'wakw. is involved in Indigenous and anti-2010 resistance. He was arrested storming the stage at the Feb 12, 2007 Olympic 'Countdown Clock' protest in Vancouver. He is an artist, writer, and editor of Warrior Publications (http://www.warriorpublications.com). He is the author of "500 Years of Indigenous Resistance".
