July 1st -- is it really a day to celebrate? What does it mean to be
Canadian? What does Canada mean to those who originally inhabited this
land? What does Canadian foreign intervention mean to those in
Afghanistan, Iraq, and Haiti?
Join CKUT's Community News Collective from 7-9am and later in the day
from 5-6pm on July 1st to hear perspectives on Indigenous-settler
relations, what it is to be Canadian, and critical views on Canadian
foreign policy to break open the truth on Canada's colonial past, and
present, here on Turtle Island.
Plus, tune in to Montreal Sessions, from 3-5pm on July 1 for anti-colonial
themes put to music! We will be hearing musical selections from the likes
of Propagandhi, Rhythm Activism, Nomadic Massive, Muzion, A Silver Mount
Zion, and others. Music reflecting on indigenous issues, imperialism,
workers' struggles, police brutality, and the darker parts of Canada's
history. Music to inspire rebellion. Or dancing. Or both.
Tune-in on July 1st for this Anti-Colonial Canada Day special on the
Tuesday Morning After, Montreal Sessions, and Off the hour right here on
CKUT 90.3fm or online at http://www.ckut.ca.
