yourself on a flight with one such person, you can help stop a
deportation. A video by the Apartrides Anonymes.

---"Surfing the Waste" by Tomoe
20 minutes (en)

Shot on 16mm film, this documentary from filmmakers Sandra Lombardi, Paul
Aflalo and Tomoe Yoshihara features a band of garbage eaters prowling the
snowy streets of Montreal. Starring Allison Trumble, Alden Penner, Mike
Kirk, Liz Whittaker and Owain Lawson, these dumpster divers sing the
praises of all manner of recycling as we see them find a multitude of
culled food and all manner of useful items. Musicians Nick Boshart and
ex-Unicorn Alden Penner composed the score which ranges from the woes felt
by a discarded toaster, to a full-on hand clapping, booty shakin'
garbage-oriented epics complete with choreography by Alli Blakley. As the
subjects bike around the city they tell us about methods they have
discovered to survive and thrive off of our society's excess. Surfing the
Waste is an all singing, all dancing musical documentary about making
environmental sustainability fun and cost effective and you can't beat a
solution like that.

---"Why I Love Shoplifting from Big Corporations" by Franklin Lopez 5
minutes (en)

Gender-Bending fun inside a big box mega-retailer. Stealing has never been
so much fun! This is subMedia’s second video interpretation of
CrimethInc’s writings.

---"Silent Movie" by Freda Guttman
10 minutes

A family drama acted out in full bloom patriarchy.

---"L'Empire de la Palme" by Projet Accompagnement Solidarite Colombie 20
minutes (sp with subtitles in fr)

---"Borderless" by Min Sook Lee
25 minutes (en with subtitles in fr)

"Borderless" gives voice to the struggles and dreams of undocumented
workers in Canada. Geraldo, a Costa Rican construction worker, and Angela,
a second-generation Caribbean domestic worker, struggle
against labour exploitation. Narration by poet Dionne Brand.
