The Other Campaign Vancouver Denounces and Opposes
former Mexican President’s visit and talk on
leadership at Power Within event.

Rally at 2 PM to 5PM Thursday, March 8th, 2007; GM
Place, Vancouver
Gathering Place: at 2PM: Keefer St & Abbott St.
(outside TNT store, near Stadium skytrain)—from there
we’ll move to GM Place
[signs with directions will be posted around GM place
for those who arrive late]

After 5PM, we will head to the Grassroots Women IWD
March starting at Keefer & Columbia

The Other Campaign Vancouver is calling allies and
community as a whole to rally and protest against the
visit and talk by former Mexican President Vicente Fox
and his wife, Martha Sahagun. Fox and Martha have been
invited to speak on leadership at the Power Within
motivation event at GM Place.
 
It is an outrage that Fox is coming to Vancouver to
speak on leadership, when he is responsible for the
deaths, rapes, torture and political incarceration of
hundreds of women (and men) in Mexico, during his six
years in power, not to mention the misery and
displacement of millions of women, men and children.
The outrage is multiplied by the fact that it is
International Women’s Day on March 8, 2007.
 
Just in his last year in government, Fox was
responsible for the May 3 & 4 attacks on Texcoco and
San Salvador Atenco (when over 4000 federal, state and
local police stormed the town and raped, beat,
tortured and detained women and men, including youth
and the elderly), and the various brutal attacks in
Oaxaca. In this past year, women continue to be killed
in Ciudad Juarez and other deaths remain in impunity,
and many miners (in Pasta de Conchos and
Sicartsa—Lazaro Cardenas, Michoacan) and other workers
have died due to government brutality.
 
PLEASE COME DRESSED IN BLACK TO SHOW THE DEATH AND
DESTRUCTION THAT FOX HAS CAUSED THE MEXICAN PEOPLE.
Also, feel free to bring a print out of a photo or
name of a Mexican woman killed, raped, tortured,
imprisoned under Fox.

In Mexico, dozens of people were killed in Atenco and
Oaxaca! Dozens of women were raped by police and
paramilitary forces in Atenco and Oaxaca! Hundreds

remain as political prisoners, and the real criminals
remain in impunity!

Manifestación de las 2 PM a las 5PM, Jueves, el 8 de
marzo, 2007; GM Place, Vancouver

Stadium)—de allá nos movemos a GM Place
Después de las 5PM, nos moveremos a la Marcha para el
Día Internacional de la Mujer de Grassroots Women,
empezando en Keefer & Columbia

La Otra Campaña Vancouver llama a todos los aliados y
la comunidad a manifestarse contra la visita y platica
de ex-Presidente Vicente Fox y su esposa, Martha
Sahagun. Fox y Marta han sido invitados a hablar sobre
el liderazgo en el evento de Power Within en GM Place.
 
Es indignante que Fox llegue a Vancouver a hablar
sobre el liderazgo, cuando el es responsable por las
muertes, violaciones, tortura y encarcelamiento
político de cientos de mujeres (y hombres) en México,
durante su sexenio, a no mencionar la miseria y
desplazamiento de millones de mujeres, hombres y
niños. Es aun más indignante que esta platica se da el
Día Internacional de la Mujer el 8 de marzo, 2007.
 
Solo en su ultimo año en el gobierno, Fox fue
responsable por los ataques del 3 y 4 de mayo en
Texcoco y San Salvador Atenco (cuando más de 4000
policias federales, estatales y locales atacaron
brutalmente al pueblo y violaron, golpearon,
torturaron y detuvieron mujeres y hombres, incluyendo
jóvenes y ancianos), y los varios ataques brutales en
Oaxaca. En este año pasado, se sigue matando mujeres
en Ciudad Juárez y otras muertes siguen en impunidad,
y muchos mineros (en Pasta de Conchos, Coahuila y
Sicartsa—Lazaro de Cardenas, Michoacán) y otros
trabajadores han muerto por causa de la brutalidad del
gobierno.
 
 
POR FAVOR VENGAN VESTIDOS EN NEGRO PARA MOSTRAR LA
MUERTE Y DESTRUCCION QUE FOX HA CAUSADO AL PUEBLO
MEXICANO.

En México, decenas de personas fueron asesinadas en

encarcelados! Cientos siguen como presos políticos, y
los verdaderos criminales siguen en impunidad!
