The Anarchist Assembly is intended to bring together anarchists from the
Ottawa-Outaouais area to link past, present and future organizing.

First, there will be a short presentation from people who took part in the
organizing of Take The Capital in 2002. They will give their perspectives
on what worked, what didn’t and what we can learn from this. This
presentation is part of the Assembly’s efforts to learn from the successes
and failures of past organizing. If you have ideas for other Ottawa
anarchist projects that could be reflected on, contact us at:
a_ottawa at mutualaid.org

Next, there will be an hour devoted to presentations by anarchist or
anarchist influenced community groups currently. If you are part of an
anarchist or anarchist-influenced group in the Ottawa/Outaouais region,
then contact us at: a_ottawa at mutualaid.org

Community groups currently presenting include:
•	The Industrial Workers Of The World –Ottawa/Outaouais
•	The Under Pressure Collective
•	The Anarchist Discussion Group
•	Critical Mass
•	The Panhandlers’ Union
•	PGA Block Ottawa
•	Exile Infoshop

Last, there will be a 1½ hour discussion about the purpose and goals of
the Anarchist Assembly. One priority will be to give the organizing
committee a clear mandate for the next Anarchist Assembly on October 21st.
The organizing committee is proposing that decision-making be made by
consensus, and that if consensus cannot be achieved, then an 80% majority
is required to for proposals to be passed.

There will be whisper translation into French.

Children are welcome, and free child-care will be available. Please
contact us at least 48 hours prior to the Assembly is you will need
child-care: a_ottawa at mutualaid.org
