MONTREAL, le 1er juillet 2007 - Environ 75 manifestants se sont réunis
dans la salle  principale de la Gare Centrale de Train de Montréal
pour une "Action Anticolonialiste" contre la compagnie CN.

Les manifestants ont affiché leur opposition à la poursuite judiciaire
en cours contre 3 militants Mohawks de Tyendinaga et exprimé leur
soutien à la souveraineté et l'auto-détermination autochtones.

Une grande banderole indiquant : "When Justice Fails, Block the Rails!
Quand CN attaque, on bloque la track! Solidarité avec la résistance
autochtone!" a été élevé par des centaines de ballons d'hélium rouges
et blancs jusqu'au plafond du principal hall de la gare. Une autre
banderole indiquant : 'CN, bâti sur des terres volées. CN, abandonne
ta poursuite judicaire raciste' a été déployée.

Plusieurs membres de la communauté Mohawk de Kahnawake, au sud de
Montréal étaient présents et se sont exprimés lors de ce piquetage,
ainsi qu'un membre du Conseil Inter-tribal de la Jeunesse, une
intervenante des Six Nations et un invité spécial du Centre de
Protection Skwelkwek'welt en Colombie Britannique.

La manifestation de la Fête du Canada fait suite aux actions en
territoire Mohawk près de Montréal le 29 juin. Tôt le matin, les
autoroutes 30 puis 138 avaient été bloquées. Plus tard, le Pont
Mercier entre Montréal et la Rive Sud a été fermé pendant un certain
temps. A Kahnesatake, la route principale entre Oka et la réserve a
aussi été bloquée pendant une grande partie de la journée.

La manifestation du 1er juillet contre la Fête du Canada faisait
également partie d'autres mobilisations locales contre le Partenariat
pour la Sécurité et la Prospérité (PSP) ?une sorte  d'ALENA combinant
des 'mesures de sécurité' pour le Canada, les Etats-Unis et le
Mexique. Le PDG de CN est membre du Conseil nord-américain pour la
compétitivité, un groupe de chefs d'entreprises qui 'conseillent' les
dirigeants du PSP. Ces dirigeants - George Bush, Stephen Harper et
Felipe Calderon ? se rencontrent à 90 minutes de Montréal au château
Montebello les 20 et 21 août.

Ce piquetage du 1er juillet contre la Fête du Canada a été organisé et
soutenu par : Bloquez l'Empire-Montréal, Mouvement en solidarité avec
les peuples autochtones, Liberterre, Personne n'est illégal-Montréal,
Pointe Libertaire, Solidarité sans Frontières, Tadamon! Montréal et
d'autres.

MONTREAL, July 1, 2007 -- About 75 demonstrators gathered in the main
hall of the Central Train Station in Montreal in an "Anti-Canada Day"
protest against CN Rail.

Demonstrators highlighted their opposition to CN's current lawsuit
against three Mohawk activists at Tyendinaga, and expressed their
support for indigenous sovereignty and self-determination.

A large banner reading: "When Justice Fails, Block the Rails!; Quand
CN attaque on bloque la track!; Solidarity with native resistance" was
raised with over one-hundred red and white helium balloons in the main
hall of the station. Another banner reading: "CN: Drop your racist
lawsuit" was also unfurled.

Several members of the Kahnawake Mohawk community, south of Montreal,
attended and spoke at the picket, as well as a member Inter-tribal
Youth Council, a speaker from Six Nations and a special guest from the
Skwelkwek'welt Protection Center in British Columbia.

The Canada Day demo follows from actions on Mohawk territories near
Montreal on June 29. In the early morning, Highway 30, and then
highway 138 was blocked. Later in the day, the Mercier Bridge between
Montreal and the South Shore was shut down for a period of time. In
Kahnesatake, it was reported that the main road from Oka to the
reserve was blocked for most of the day.

The July 1st Anti-Canada Day demo is also part of local mobilizations
against the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) -- a NAFTA plus
Homeland Security model for Canada, the USA and Mexico. CN Rail's CEO
is part of the North American Competitiveness Council, a group of CEOs
that "advises" the SPP leaders. Those leaders ? George Bush, Stephen
Harper and Felipe Calderon -- are meeting just 90 minutes from
Montreal at the Chateau Montebello this August 20 and 21.

The July 1st Anti-Canada Day picket was organized and supported by:
Block the Empire-Montreal, Indigenous Peoples Solidarity Movement,
Liberterre, No One Is Illegal-Montreal, Pointe Libertaire, Solidarity
Across Borders, Tadamon! Montreal, and others.
