ABOUT THE INSTITUTE
FOR ANARCHIST STUDIES
*****************************
The IAS was established as a nonprofit foundation in 1996 in order to
support the development of anarchism through a grant-giving program for
radical writers. To date, the IAS has funded over fifty projects by
authors and translators from around the world. The IAS has grown
significantly since its inception. In addition to supporting projects like
the Latin American Archives Project and cosponsoring the Renewing the
Anarchist Tradition conference, the IAS also publishes a biannual
magazine, "Perspectives on Anarchist Theory," as a forum in which to
frame, explore, and debate questions of significance to contemporary
anarchist theory and practice. The IAS relies entirely on contributions
from generous individuals around the world to be able to carry out its
programs.
