Two-Spirit Honor Project
The Two Spirit Honor Project is a Native-run study and the first of its kind.
The study will assess physical, mental, and spiritual strengths and needs
and will explore how Native culture and Traditions enhance wellness and
buffer against historical trauma, discrimination, alcohol and HIV
risk/exposure, and other life experiences that affect Native health
behaviors and wellness.
How you can get involved?
The project seeks Urban Native American/Alaskan Native/First Nation
people, 18 years or older who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgenderd,
intersexed, two-spirit or self identified heterosexuals, who have had
sexual relations with
persons of the same "biologically born" within the last 12 months,
regardless of self-identified sexual orientation or gender identity.
They will participate in focus groups and interviews to help with the
success of the study.
Participation in the study is confidential and voluntary. Each
participant will be compensated for their time.
FOCUS groups and interviews will be conducted in six urban locations:
Seattle-Tacoma, WA
Los Angeles, CA
San Francisco-Oakland, CA
New York, NY
Minneapolis-St.Paul, MN
Denver, CO
Tulsa, OK

will be paid $65 for your participation in the lengthy interview.
