The Organizer Initiative needs your help!!!

        The creation of a spectacularly different McGill agenda has been
put into motion (thanks to a QPIRG Summer Stipend). The desire is
to craft an ad-free and cost-free alternative daytimer/handbook
that will serve as a comprehensive reference guide for students
connecting and highlighting progressive/social justice groups,
events and activities both on and off campus. This project along
with the calendar section will include such elements as group
profiles; contact information; important dates from history
incorporated into the day-timer highlighting significant events
from social justice struggles in Montreal and at McGill; fun
how-to guides; a 'Know Your Rights' section in dealing with the
police, landlords, and the McGill Administration; HMB paper-dolls;
where to find services; 'McGillty', the lesser known McGill
history; how to live, eat and play for cheap/free; as well as
art, comics, fun facts and photos throughout.

        This is a project still in the shaping process. It needs diverse
involvement to become a worth while initiative. So everyone is
invited to get involved! The Organizer is a collaborative effort
so nothing will be done unilaterally and all will be based on a
'model of consensus organizing'.

Many ways to get involved
- Submissions of any type (content must fall into the mandate of this
project)
- Collective Editing
- Layout
- Distribution
- Networking and Organizing
- Sharing of glorious ideas…..

        If you or your group has any ideas for the day-timer, desire to
get involved with the project, or sees it as a good chance for
outreach, networking, forewarning and/or inspiration…… Please
attend the First Official meeting on Thursday June 8th, 6pm @
QPIRG McGill
3647 University Street (just south of ave. des Pins)3rd floor (just above
CKUT)

If you are unable to attend, out of town or receive this call-out a little
too late, (with list-serves being slower over the summer), please don't
hesitate to contact us as there is no cut off time for people getting
involved! And you can always contribute from a far!

Ceci n'est pas uniquement un projet en anglais, mais le contenu en
français viendra avec l'implication des francophones.

If you still need some extra motivation, there is a potential to offer
some capital ($) token to those who play a substantial role in this
project. However, no promises can be made as this depends on the amount of
funding that can be rounded up, as our QPIRG Summer Stipend will only
cover printing costs.
