EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

NATIVE FRIENDSHIP CENTRE OF MONTREAL

The Native Friendship Centre of  Montreal is looking for a dynamic 
individual to assume the position of Executive Director. This position is 
full-time.

DUTIES:

- Day to day administration of the affairs and program/services of the 
Centre
- Preparing budgets and budget forecasts
- Monitoring and being responsible for the financial management of all 
centre budgets
- Responsible to oversee all Staff (adhering to Personnel Policy)
- Acting as Liaison and Public Relations Officer for the Native Friendship 
Centre of Montreal
- Reviewing and evaluating ongoing programs and services
- Reviewing policies to ensure that they are up to date
- Working closely with the Board of Directors, Executive Committee and 
Committees
- Preparing monthly and financial reports for Board of director’s meetings


QUALIFICATIONS;

- Business Management, Public Administration or Human Services Degree or an 
equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum five (5) years administrative experience
- Must be bilingual
- Sound knowledge of accounting, financial and administrative management in 
a non-profit organization
- Good working knowledge of all government resource agencies and their 
programs, regulations and practices
- Extensive knowledge of legislation, practices, standards and policies that 
guide the delivery of social, cultural, recreational, educational, health 
services to urban aboriginal peoples
- Sound knowledge of community development concepts
- Proven supervisory skills
- Experience in Proposal Writing
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and writing
- Conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work with Board of Directors
- Must consent to a criminal record review and police record check
- Sobriety for at least two years
- Knowledge of First Nation issues
- Knowledge of First Nation people in the Montreal and surrounding areas
- Be in possession of a valid drivers license
