Contract Posting: Regional Coordinators
for "Dig Your Roots – Indigenous"
The National Campus and Community Radio Association (NCRA/ANREC) is
looking for five part-time Regional
Coordinators across Canada for its "Dig Your Roots" project. The
project focuses on the distribution of a series of CD
compilations, as well as the production and promotion of a series of
nationally broadcasted radio programs featuring new and
established acts. The regions are as follows: Pacific (BC/Yukon),
Prairie (NT/AB/SK/MB), Ontario, Québec/North (QC/
NU), and Atlantic (NB/NS/PEI/NL).
In conjunction with other regional coordinators and the national
coordinator, you will be responsible for:
· The recruitment of Indigenous artists, both Canadian and International.
· The promotion of a series of compilations featuring emerging
Indigenous artists.
· The implementation of a series of national live broadcasts on campus
and community radio stations.
· The implementation of a promotional campaign tying together the two
aspects of the project (compilation series and
live broadcasts).
Qualifications and Skills:
· Should have a working knowledge of and/or relationship with various
music industry professionals.
· Should have a working knowledge and/or relationship with local and
regional media, with an emphasis on alternative
forms of media, including, but not limited to, radio, print, and Internet.
· Should have experience with producing and promoting live
events/concerts/showcases.
· Should have a sound knowledge of the cultures of Canadian and/or
International Indigenous artists.
· Should have a successful working relationship with Indigenous
networks and/or communities.
· Should be working in and/or be familiar with the campus and
community radio sector.
· Should have previous experience with self-employment and/or contract work.
· Should have demonstrated experience with meeting tight deadlines and
working with demanding schedules.
· Should have demonstrated experience with networking and
communications throughout a large region.
· Must be able to work as part of a team while needing little supervision.
· Must have proven organizational ability and time management skills.
· Must be approachable and available for interested and participating
individuals, organizations, and businesses.
· Must be flexible regarding scheduling and hours.
· Must be able to provide/have access to own workspace that includes a
computer, Internet, and phone.
· Bilingualism and/or multilingualism is a definite asset.
Terms of Contract:
October 1 to November 30, 2005 and January 2 to March 31, 2006. Total
contract: $4300 plus project expenses. Payments will
be tied to project tasks and deadlines. Approximately 10-15 hours per week.

L’Association nationale des radios Ã(c)tudiantes et communautaires/National
Campus and Community Radio Association (ANREC/NCRA) est à la recherche de
cinq (5) coordonnateurs rÃ(c)gionaux à  temps partiel à  travers le Canada pour
un super projet national de dÃ(c)veloppement de talent. Le projet portera
essentiellement sur la production, la distribution et la vente d’une sÃ(c)rie
de recueils de chansons sur CD, ainsi que la production et la promotion d’
une sÃ(c)rie d’Ã(c)missions de radio diffusÃ(c)es à  l’Ã(c)chelle
nationale et mettant en
vedette des artistes nouveaux et Ã(c)tablis.

Conditions d’emploi:
Du 1 octobre au 30 november 2005 et 2 janvier au 31 mars 2006.
RÃ(c)munÃ(c)ration: 4 300 $ (sur une semaine de 10 - 15 heures)

ResponsabilitÃ(c)s:
Conjointement avec les autres coordonnateurs rÃ(c)gionaux et le coordonnateur
national, vous devrez:
- Recruter des artistes indÃ(c)pendants de les Premières nations/Inuit/MÃ(c)tis et
des artistes internationaux.
- Produire une sÃ(c)rie de recueils de chansons sur CD.
- RÃ(c)aliser une sÃ(c)rie d’Ã(c)missions en direct à  l’Ã(c)chelle
nationale diffusÃ(c)es
sur les stations membres de l’ANREC/NCRA
- Mettre sur pied une campagne promotionnelle reliant les deux aspects du
projets: la sÃ(c)rie de recueils de chansons sur CD et les Ã(c)missions en direct.

QualitÃ(c)s requises:
- Doit travailler dans le milieu des radios Ã(c)tudiantes et communautaires ou
bien connaÃ(r)tre le milieu.
- Devrait avoir des relations Ã(c)tablies au sein de l’industrie de la musique
et connaÃ(r)tre, par exemple, des artistes, des studios, des promoteurs et des
salles de spectacle.
- Devrait avoir une connaissance pratique des mÃ(c)dias locaux et rÃ(c)gionaux, Ã 
la fois commerciaux et alternatifs, ou avoir Ã(c)tabli des relations de travail
avec ceux-ci.
- Doit avoir une connaissance solide des cultures de Canadien Indigènes
et/ou Internationaux.
- Devrait avoir de l’expÃ(c)rience dans la production et la promotion des
Ã(c)vÃ(c)nements en direct.
- Doit pouvoir travailler en Ã(c)quipe et de façon autonome.
- Doit avoir un sens confirmÃ(c) de l’organisation
- Doit être accessible et disponible pour les personnes, les organismes et
les entreprises intÃ(c)ressÃ(c)s et participants.
- Doit être flexible en ce qui a trait à  l’Ã(c)tablissement du calendrier et
des heures de travail.
- Doit être disposÃ(c) à  voyager pour affaires, tel que requis.
- Le bilinguisme et/ou plurilinguisme est necessaire. La première langue de
communication va être anglais.
