Freedom Summer Palestine is an annual campaign organized by the International 
Solidarity Movement (ISM). The ISM is a Palestinian-led movement committed to 
resisting the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land using non-violent, 
direct-action methods and principles. Founded by a small group of activists in 
August, 2001, ISM aims to support and strengthen the Palestinian popular 
resistance by providing the Palestinian people with two resources, 
international protection and a voice with which to resist an overwhelming 
military occupation force.

While the world is hearing that the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is being 
resolved and that Sharon has become “a herald of peace,” apartheid continues to 
be reinforced each day in Occupied Palestine. Palestinian Communities are 
accompanied by ISM activists in their non-violent demonstrations for the 
freedom of political prisoners, and against the construction of the illegal 
Apartheid Wall, the on-going house demolitions, checkpoints, and continued 
settlement expansion.

Montreal ISM delegates will speak about their participation in Freedom Summer 
2005 which began on June 25th and continued until August 21, one day for every 
year of displacement and dispossession since 1948.

L'été de la liberté Palestine est une campagne annuelle organisée par le 
mouvement de solidarité internationale (ISM). L'ISM est un mouvement issu de la 
base palestinienne qui résiste à l’occupation israélienne de la Palestine en 
utilisant des méthodes non-violentes.  Fondé par un petit groupe d'activistes 
en août, 2001, l'ISM vise à soutenir et renforcer la résistance populaire 
palestinienne en fournissant aux palestiniens la protection internationale et 
une voix internationale pour résister l’occupation israélienne.

Pendant que le monde parle d’une résolution du conflit Palestinien Israélien et 
que Sharon est devenu "un héraut de la paix," l’apartheid continue à être 
renforcée chaque jour dans les territoires occupés. Les communautés 
palestiniennes sont accompagnées par les internationaux dans leurs 
manifestations pour la liberté de prisonniers politiques, et contre la 
construction du mur illégal d’apartheid, les démolitions de maison, les 
checkpoint, ainsi que la colonisation.

Les délégués de Montréal parleront de leur participation à l'été de la liberté 
2005, du 25 juin jusqu'au 21 août, un jour pour chaque année de déplacement et 
dépossession, depuis 1948.
