This Thursday, March 31st, Taiaiake Alfred will be discussing his
forthcoming book, Wasase: Indigenous Pathways of Action and Freedom,
with special reference to the role of intellectuals in the
regeneration of indigenous cutures and communities.
He will be speaking at 7pm at the Kahnawake Cultural Centre, and this
event, part of the Blue Metropolis Montreal International Literary
Festival (http://www.blue-met-bleu.com/), is free. To get to the
cultural centre from Montreal, Take the mercier bridge, and then a
right into Kahnawake. You'll Come to a 4-way stop with a shell
station, there you take a right. At the 3rd stop sign take a right,
and then the centre will be on the right. On the left will be a
funeral home, and the centre will be a long buiding with a chain link
fence and playground equipment.
