Get involved with Native Solidarity News:
a nationally syndicated, weekly radio program
-----------------------------
PUBLIC MEETING
Thursday, June 23rd
19h00, at
CKUT
3647, University St.
398-6788
food will be provided
-----------------
We will be having an open meeting for people wishing to get involved with
the Native Solidarity News collective. No radio experience is necessary,
though if you'd like to pick up some skills, there are trainings happening
this weekend (see below). If you never have, tune into NSN Tuesdays from 6-7
pm.
Native Solidarity News is a national radio service and part of an
international network of information and action in support of indigenous
peoples' survival and dignity. We are all volunteers committed to promoting
Native self-determination, culturally, economically, spiritually and
otherwise. The show is self-sufficient, without government or corporate
funding.
We try to make each 60-minute program as welcoming and challenging to
someone who has never heard of the issues as it is to a longstanding
follower. Each week, you can enjoy short news and an in-depth feature -
including background information, interviews with people directly involved
with the issue, contacts, and pointers for action - interwoven with music,
readings, and film excerpts.
In keeping with the ethic of being accessible and non-profit, NSN
back-issues and subscriptions are available at cost or for exchange. Visit
www.ckut.ca/nsn/ <http://www.ckut.ca/nsn/> to see our catalogue.
Produced at CKUT community radio since 1996, NSN is now also broadcast on
CFBU St. Catherines, CHLS Lillooet, CHMA Sackville, CHSR Fredericton, CJLY
Kootenay Coop Radio, CJSF Burnaby, and Radio 90 Banff.
