Welcome to Native Solidarity News (NSN)
Native Solidarity News was approved by CKUT's Programming Committee as a
"weekly one-hour evening or weekend show on issues concerning indigenous
peoples worldwide, with a particular focus on Native North Americans"
and an editorial perspective to speak on Native issues "from a
non-Native perspective and for a mostly non-Native audience, with no
pretense of speaking for Native people."
The show today fits this almost exactly, with the exception that some
contributors are Native. For everybody who has worked on the program,
the understanding of what we are here to do is becoming ever more
subtle. The show now plays an important role in activist and other
non-Native communities and urban and reservation Native communities.
NSN is currently carried on 21 stations from Nova Scotia to British
Columbia.
