i'm not sure how this article is "racist" (a word which, these days can
only be used by white people when their usual victims fight back and
speak the truth) considering how with the present version of "native
status" has become only a card some folk hustle for like a free pass to
the cinema or a canadian tire dollar. something which was there to
empower Culture and peoples has been degraded by racist opportunist and
taken to extremes where people who don't even respect natives try and
grab "native status" based on a distance relation just to, as they put
it, 'get a free ride'. also the current situation has been used to
secure and establish the land rights of white citizenry by keeping the
native peoples in a concentration camp situation, where they are only
exposed to white people, they are selectively married off into white
families, where that family gains rights and profits as the native and
offspring are "desocialized" and lose all -- normally then discarded.
therefore, what we get are people with native status who look more (and
think more) white than anything else and have likkle to nothing do with
native culture. eventually, this form of shiesty cultural imperialistic
miscegenation, is set to destroy the native peoples and cultures, from
the inside out, along with their rights, freedome and cultures.
