 The Dragonroot Centre for Gender Advocacy presents
 acclaimed science fiction author Nalo Hopkinson.

 Nalo Hopkinson is the author of the novels "Brown
 Girl in the Ring," "Midnight Robber," and "The Salt
 Roads," and of the short story collection, "Skin
 Folk." She has been awarded Canada's Sunburst Award,
 the World Fantasy Award, and the Gaylactic Spectrum
 Award.

Author Bio:
Nalo Hopkinson is of Caribbean background (Jamaica, Trinidad,  Guyana). 
She's  lived in Toronto for the past 28 years.  She is a novelist, short
story writer  and editor who uses   the lens of fantastical fiction to
explore the social  dynamics of gender, race, sex, sexuality and power.
She has published three  novels, a collection of her own short fiction,
and numerous short stories, as  well as editing and co-editing four
anthologies of fantasy and science fiction;

the most recent is « So Long Been Dreaming: Postcolonial Science Fiction
and  Fantasy,» co-edited with Uppinder Mehan.  She's at work on a new
novel,  currently titled « Mammalian Diving Reflex. »
