NYM MEMBERS ARRESTED, HARRASSED AND INTERROGATED BY INSET

 

PRESS CONFERENCE SUNDAY DECEMBER 4TH, 2005 12 NOON

Oppenheimer Park, Vancouver, BC

 

(Unceded, Unsurrendered Squamish Territory, Vancouver, BC/December 4th,
2005)  On Sunday, December 4th, 2005 the Native Youth Movement will be
celebrating National Revolutionary Day by hosting Feed The People
(F.T.P.) in Oppenheimer Park, Vancouver, BC.  NYM members will be serving
soup to homeless and street People in memory of Fred Hampton Sr. who was
assassinated by the Chicago police and the FBI on December 4th, 1969. 
Fred Hampton Sr. was the chairman of the Illinois Chapter of the Black
Panther Party for Self-Defence.  He was murdered at the age of 21 because
of his work and community organizing for his People and Freedom. 

 

During F.T.P. a press conference will be held to expose the RCMP arrest
and harassment of 3 Native Youth Movement members who were arrested on
the Mt. Currie Indian Reservation in Lil’wat, St’at’imc Territory  on
November 29th, 2005.  The 3 were held in Whistler (future venue for the
2010 Winter Olympics) and interrogated by INSET (Integrated National
Security Enforcement Team), the RCMP’s anti-terrorist unit, well known
for harassing Warriors fighting this corrupt fake, evil system.  NYM
members arrested & harassed will be at press conference for interviews. 
It must be exposed that INSET and the RCMP use the same tactics that
caused the assassination of Fred Hampton Sr. and thousands of other
Freedom Fighters, as well as, the imprisonment of countless Red and Black
Warriors.  The COINTELPRO (Counter-Intelligence Program) used in the 60’s
and 70’s in the US to neutralize Resistance Movements is still in use
today against the Freedom Fighters here in the North.  Isolation and fear
is some main tactics used, we must not be isolated.  Our message needs to
be heard. 

 

F.T.P. will be also rally held in coordination with the Prisoners of
Conscience Committee (POCC) in Chicago, Illinois to support POCC member
Aaron Patterson who was sentenced on Friday, December 2nd, 2005 after
being lynched in a Chicago courtroom.  Aaron Patterson was exonerated by
the US government, after serving 15 years in prison and was framed again
for his outspokenness against a corrupt invading fake, evil system.  We
call for Freedom of All Prisoners of War: Leonard Peltier, Aaron
Patterson, Arlo Looking Cloud, John Graham and Eddie Hatcher and all
those imprisoned by the Enemy.

 

NYM will be stating our Firm and Uncompromising stance against the 2010
Winter Olympics and our support for the Elders and Youth of the Taltan
Nation.  We call for a stop of all mining, not only in BC but Guatemala
and all Indian Territory.  Hands OFF Assata!  Down with Sun Peaks! Stop
Fish Farms!
