CKUT RADIO: The 16th ANNUAL Funding Drive
A Call for Solidarity from the Tuesday Morning After
The Tuesday Morning After is calling for your financial support as
part of CKUT's 16th Annual Funding Drive, taking over the airwaves between
March 31st to April 10th.
This Tuesday morning between 7am & 9am we are calling on you to call-in
and DONATE in solidarity with CKUT Radio (90.3 fm). To donate simply call
514 398 8991, during the hours of the program, or you can pledge on-line
at: http://www.ckut.ca
As part of the Funding Drive edition of the Tuesday Morning After, we will be
hosting various guests on the program, who will be voicing their support for
CKUT Radio including: NAOMI KLEIN, ALI ABUNIMAH (electronicintifada.net),
EUPHRATES (Iraqi Hip-Hop Crew), FABIAN DURAN (Mexico City Indymedia Center),
DOLORES CHEW (South Asian Women's Community Center), PATRICK CADORETTE from
Indymedia Quebec (www.cmaq.net), dub poet KAIE KELLOUGH, NETA GOLAN co-founder
of the International Solidarity Movement (www.palsolidarity.org) from occupied
Palestine and CKUT Radio volunteer Ehab Lotayef & more....
Please join our many guests this coming Tuesday morning, and show your
financial support for CKUT Radio, one of the most vital and listened to
community radio stations in Montreal and throughout Canada.
We will be giving away a number of gifts for those who donate $40 to the
funding drive. Gifts include copies of EUPHRATES albums entitled: A Bend in the
River and Stereotypes Incorporated; original artwork by Montreal-based
Palestinian artist Nidal Elkhary and a copy of the International Solidarity
Movement's book Peace Under Fire.... and other exciting gifts!
As a campus-based community radio station we depend heavily on your economic
support throughout the year and specifically during our annual Funding Drive,
as CKUT receives little or no corporate or government funding. It is your
donations, which in many ways sustain the functions of the station and make
possible CKUT news and cultural programming such as the Tuesday Morning After.
Similar to CKUT's programming, station funding relies heavily on the collective
effort of the Montreal community.
The Tuesday Morning After remains committed to providing radio programming that
acts as a tool for community based organizing and activism both locally in
Montreal and internationally. CKUT attempts to provide direct access to the
airwaves for the most marginalized and oppressed segments of society, such as
the homeless, immigrant, refugee and indigenous communities.
As part of the 16th Annual Funding Drive at CKUT, the Tuesday Morning After
needs your donations in our efforts to reach our goal of raising 1000$, as part
of the larger goal of 70 000$ as the grand total for the Annual Funding Drive
at CKUT.
In Solidarity,
Samira Rahmani & Stefan Christoff
