Depuis 12 ans les gens du Kashipur en Inde ont
résisté à l’établissement d’un projet d’alumine promu
par ALCAN sur leurs terres.

En décembre 2000, la police a ouvert le feu sur des
villageois suite à une rencontre anti-mine. Trois
ont été tués.

Les conseils de village de 22 des 24 villages
“officiellement affectés”  ont ensuite présenté une
resolution en opposition au projet..

Ils se battent encore aujourd’hui

For 10 years the people of Kashipur, India have
resisted the establishment of an alumina project
backed by ALCAN on their land. In December 2000,
police opened fire on villagers following an
anti-mining meeting killing 3.  Following this,
the elected village councils of 22 out of 24
“officially affected” villages passed a resolution in
opposition to the project.

They are still fighting today.
