RALLY IN SOLIDARITY WITH PALESTINIAN REFUGEES
Facing Deportation from Canada

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
THURSDAY May 20th, 4 - 6pm
Citizenship and Immigration Canada
1010 St. Antoine West
(metro Bonaventure)
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

War crimes committed by the brutal Israeli occupation continue daily, with
more than 100 homes demolished and over 20 Palestinians killed in Rafah
refugee camp, Gaza in the past few days alone. Nonetheless the Canadian
government remains silent on the situation, and continues to deport
Palestinians back to the brutal military occupation and to the unbearable
living conditions in the Palestinian refugee camps of Lebanon.

The Coalition Against the Deportation of Palestinian Refugees is calling
for a demonstration in solidarity with Palestinians in Palestine and
Palestinian refugees facing deportation from Canada. As part of this
demonstration members of the Notre Dame de Grace Church, where three
Palestinian refugees - Khalil Ayoub, 67 Nabih Ayoub, 69 and Therese Boulos
Haddad, 62 - have taken sanctuary, will be present to give a statement in
support of the refugees facing deportation from Canada. Last week, a
petition signed by 9600 Canadians was submitted to the House of Commons
demanding an end to the deportation of Palestinian refugees, and more
signatures continue to be collected.

The demonstration in Montreal will take place as part of a North American
day of action in solidarity with the Palestinian refugees facing
deportation from Canada. This day of action will unite Palestinian
refugees and their supporters in demonstrations and actions on the streets
of Vancouver, Toronto and New York in front of Immigration Canada offices
and Canadian consulates. The political power of collective action and
popular support for the Palestinian refugees was clearly illustrated in
the case of Osama Saleh. After a persistent political campaign, Osama's
deportation to the West Bank was halted by a Federal Court Judge. Osama
Saleh's fight to remain in Canada is not over, but serves as a concrete
example of the power that collective action can have in fighting the
deportation of Palestinian refugees.

As the majority of the Palestinian refugees are set to be deported from
Canada in the coming weeks, your support, solidarity and participation is
urgently needed!

WE WILL BE DEMANDING FROM CITIZENSHIP & IMMIGRATION CANADA:

1. To stop the deportations of the Palestinian refugees from Canada;
2. To grant them permanent residency on Humanitarian and Compassionate
grounds.

In Solidarity,
The Coalition Against the Deportation of Palestinian Refugees
