The ongoing struggle of over 40 Palestinian refugees, facing deportation
from Canada, will once again be taken to the streets of Ottawa. The
Coalition Against the Deportation of Palestinian Refugees is calling for
your solidarity and participation as we take the struggle of the
Palestinian refugees to the Federal offices of Citizenship and Immigration
Canada.

The political power of collective action and popular support for the
Palestinian refugees, was clearly illustrated this past week in the case
of Osama Saleh. After an intense political campaign, Osama's pending
deportation to the West Bank was halted by a Federal Court Judge. Osama
Saleh's fight to remain in Canada is not over, but serves as a concrete
example of the power that collective action can have in fighting the
deportation of Palestinian refugees.

As the majority of the Palestinian refugees, are set to be deported from
Canada in the coming weeks and months, your support, solidarity and
participation is urgently needed!

Thursday May 13th, from the Hall Building of Concordia University (1455 de
Maisonneuve West). We are asking for a 5$ donation from students &

DETAILS & BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

This demonstration will bring the struggle of Palestinian refugees to the
Federal offices of Immigration Canada to demand that Judy Sgro the
Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Canada halt all deportations of
Palestinian refugees. This demonstration will also highlight the fact that
the majority of Palestinian refugees facing deportation have applied to
remain in Canada on Humanitarian and Compassionate Grounds.

To ensure that all Humanitarian Claims are accepted the Coalition Against
the Deportation of Palestinian Refugees is demanding a meeting with Judy
Sgro, to hand deliver copies of the Humanitarian Claims that have been
submitted to Citizenship and Immigration Canada. We will demand that Judy
Sgro use her discretionary powers to insure that all Humanitarian Claims
submitted by Palestinian refugees are accepted, thus granting them
Permanent Resident status.

The Coalition Against the Deportation of Palestinian Refugees is calling
for your support and solidarity in order to halt all deportations. We
continue this struggle as over 40 Palestinian refugees continue to face
deportation from Canada in the coming weeks and months.  They face
deportation to the illegal and deadly Israeli military occupation, which
plagues daily life throughout Occupied Palestine and to the violence,
poverty and persecution which defines daily life in the Palestinian
refugee camps throughout Lebanon.
