FYI - Quebecor is also a major shareholder and customer of Abitibi
Consolidated, the Montreal-based corporation which has been responsible for
much of the clearcutting in Grassy Narrows. Please come out and show your
support for the struggles of the Quebecor workers, as well as of the
community of Grassy Narrows.

travail et le droit à s'organiser, pour les luttes ouvrière et anti-pauvreté

Les travailleurs de Québecor, la compagnie basée à Montréal avec 160 usines
dans 17 pays, est attaquée au Sud des États-Unis où les conditions de
travail se sont détériorés et où la syndicalisation a été reprimée. Québecor
est accusé de 22 violations des droits des travailleurs, tel les congédiment
injuste, menace et réprésailles contre les travailleurs qui veulent
organiser un syndicat. Une délégation de travailleurs des usines au
Kentucky, Mississippi et Tennesse seront en ville!

programme incluera un panel comprenant des travailleurs de Québecor et des
membres de la communauté au Kentucky, Mississippi et Tennesse. De plus, un
représentant du Graphic Communications International Union et de Jobs with
Justice parleront de la campagne. Du café et un petit gouté seront servis.

Rally at the Quebecor Headquarters in support of workers' rights and
anti-poverty struggles!!!
Workers at Quebecor World, the Montreal-based printing giant with 160 plants
in 17 countries, are under attack in the southern U.S. where working
conditions have deteriorated and union organizing has been repressed. The
U.S. government has accused the company of 22 unfair labor practice charges
that include firing, threatening, and retaliating against workers who want a
union. A delegation of workers from plants in Kentucky, Mississippi and
Tennesse will be in town!

The action will be preceded by a Union-Community Forum to be held Monday,
August 30, at 6 p.m. at the Centre St-Pierre situated at 1212 rue Panet. The
program will include a panel composed of Quebecor workers and community
leaders from Kentucky, Mississippi, and Tennessee. In addition, a
representative from the GCIU and from Jobs with Justice will discuss the
campaign. Coffee and snacks will be served.
