** Suggested Complementary Readings for March 15 **

Reflecting on the battle against Sun Peaks development covered in these
chapters, here are some readings about the ongoing ‘Zibi' development
locally.

1) "Reconciliation Really?: A Timeline of the Desecration of Akikodjiwan
and Akikpautik, An Anishinaabeg Sacred Place" by Lynn Gehl and Lindsay
Lambert. http://www.leveller.ca/2018/03/reconciliation-really/

Great historical context by an Algonquin scholar/activist and a local
historian.

2) "To Justify Land #2”:
http://www.berfrois.com/2017/07/lital-khaikin-justify-land-2/

A series of essays (mostly) about Zibi and Akikodjiwan, published in a
British literary magazine.

you best to get as deep as you can. If you don't have a copy of the
book, Octopus Books has some. We have a few hard copies and e-books on
hand too (free or pay-what-you-can), which you can claim by emailing
indigsol at riseup.net.

There will be a scheduled break, and some light snacks available. Please
contact us (indigsol at riseup.net) with any questions, if you need help
paying for bus fare, or have any other accommodation needs.
