*Friday - Protect Algonquin Sacred Site in Ottawa*

This Friday, join with Algonquin Grandmothers and Elders and walk to honour
and protect Ottawa's sacred site at the Chaudière Falls!

This is a call to ALL FAITHS to come together in support of the Indigenous
people of this territory, to honour the spiritual connection to the land at
this sacred site.

Friday June 17
- 10am: Ceremony begins on Victoria Island (138 Middle St);
- 11am: The walk itself starts from the island;
- Noon: At Parliament Hill for speeches/activities and closing prayers.

The United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP)
states in Article 12 that "Indigenous peoples have the right to maintain,
protect, and have access in privacy to their religious and cultural sites"
and we intend to honour that, in line with the Truth & Reconciliation
Commission recommendations, on June 17!

et les îles avoisinantes. Nations autochtones, groupes multiconfessionnels,
gens d’Ottawa, de Gatineau et d’ailleurs : le 17 juin, unissons nos voix
pour dénoncer la démolition du lieu sacré Akikodjiwan.

10 h : Cérémonie sur l’île Victoria
11 h : Marche le long de la rue Wellington
12 h : Rassemblement sur la colline du Parlement
