July 27 – August 14
Akwesasne and Thousand Islands

"Are you ready to ride for peace and friendship? This is an opportunity to
join an open minded and welcoming cross-cultural group. Share and learn
together, as Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal peoples, about our
responsibilities to each other and to the earth. Be one of 16 people chosen
to cycle for two and a half weeks this summer, starting in Akwesasne, near
Cornwall, Ontario, with stops in communities along the Saint-Lawrence River
and Thousand Islands. You’ll learn about the territory, meet new people,
practice clean living and develop new skills!

We support each tour member with advice and online tools to fundraise
$1800. Bursaries are available. Not friends with your bike yet? Fear not!
If you can ride a bike to your neighbour's house, you can ride on this
tour! This summer get outside, make new friends and embrace the challenge
of the Nation to Nation Tour! Apply by June 1 at otesha.ca or call
613.237.6065 for more information"

The Otesha Project uses interactive workshops, theatre presentations and
bicycle tours to engage people of all ages to take action for a more fair
and sustainable future - for all peoples and the planet.

KAIROS Canada unites eleven churches and religious organizations in
faithful action for human rights and ecological justice. For decades these
churches have worked in solidarity with First Nations, Inuit and Métis
peoples and organizations to enhance understanding of Indigenous peoples’
history and rights.

Walls of Division
Fundraiser for Seven Deadly Myths Documentary

 May 9th, 2013 7pm

MARION AUDITORIUM, UNIVERSITY OF OTTAWA
140 Louis Pasteur

Tickets available online at www.nccar.ca ($10 in adv $15 at the door)

Lia Tarachansky is an Israeli-Russian journalist and filmmaker. She grew
up in Arial, one of those much controversial Jewish settlements in the
Palestinian West Bank. In 2011 the Israeli government attempted to silence
critical voices, inadvertently shedding a light on the country's biggest
taboo - what happened in 1948 when the state was formed and the majority of
Palestinians became refugees. That attempt launched a nation-wide debate
about democracy in the Jewish state. In May she will tour Ontario,
speaking about her transformation and her upcoming documentary, Seven
Deadly Myths that profiles these events.
