This is a kind reminder of the Gathering and Sacred Fire that will be held
at the Beaver Pond, Kanata this Saturday evening at 7PM (June 11). This
will be a gathering for all those who are concerned about Mother Earth and
it's beautiful South March Highlands. Please pass this invitation to all
your contacts. All you need to bring is a blanket to sit on and maybe some
drinks/food to share if you like. I like to thank you for your support and
wish your families well.

The Aboriginal Women's Leadership Circle at Women's Worlds 2011 is proud
to present INDIGENOUS FEMINISMS ROCK! Event is free, venue is wheelchair
accessible.

Join us for a powerhouse evening of Indigenous Feminisms you won't forget!
Featuring art installations from Families of Sisters In Spirit and
selected pieces from Indigenous Feminist Métis Erin Konsmo, the evening
will also feature presentations from the grand prizes winners of the Young
Aboriginal Women's Creative Essay Contest.

We will then transition into an interactive talk-show style format with
host Jessica Yee, Executive Director of the Native Youth Sexual Health
Network with special guests:
- Lee Maracle, Sto:lo award-winning author, playwright, teacher, and artist
- Qwo-Li Driskill (Assistant Professor, Texas A&M University) Cherokee
Two-Spirit and Queer activist, writer, and performer.
- Andrea Smith, co-founder of INCITE! Women of Color Against Violence

We will then end the evening with a musical performance from Alida Kinnie
Starr, Mixed Blood Mohawk, producer/rapper/poet/singer.
