Rally for Awareness! Arts, Eats & Critical Information
12:00-7pm, Wednesday March 9
Unicenter Atrium, Carleton Univeristy

Our goal is to shine a little light on Canada's darkside & make a Youtube
video to educate & create awareness about this perpetual injustice
inherent in Canadian society.

Since roughly 1980, between 583 and 3000 Indigenous women have gone
missing or been murdered in Canada.

The day is about debunking native stereotypes and asking critical questions.

Where do we get our information?

There is a need for understanding that the media, our newspapers and our
governments are lying to us. If not blatently lying, then purposely
repressing crucial information.

Mass media and print culture are extremely limited and controlled sources
of information. This censorship renders it biased... making it a seriously
feeble source of 'trusted' information.

Clearly our governments don't agree that Native Rights are Human Rights as
these 583 women are not on the political agenda....

But the Tar Sands can stand to have production raised over 100% since the
initial creation of Sisters in Spirit Campaign?

This is an atrocious number of missing and murdered women in
Canada....just our government... Prioritizing accordingly.

When Harper boasted at the G20 Summit that there is "no history of
colonialism in Canada" our Indigneous nations were, once again, met by a
man that has no capacity for empathy.

We are campaining for a more critical awareness of the world around us.

Come Rally for Indigenous Awareness on Wednesday March 9th in the Carleton
Uni-Center Atrium

12-5: Arts, Eats & Info sessions
5-6: A few words of Awareness & Thanks
6-7: Candlelit Vigil on Canal/Debriefing & Reflections for the Youtube
Awareness video

No pressure to camp out.. but it is definately welcomed! Just pop by, say
hi and show some support :) Try to bus or make use of that O-train,
parking can be tricky/pricey..( I'll see if i cant get something sorted
out there though!)

Peace & love guys! Contact me anytime if you are interested in helping out :)
