HELP PACK THE COURTROOM JULY 2nd IN MANIWAKI
An important court date looms for members of Barriere Lake First Nation
and solidarity activists who were arrested during a series of peaceful
highway blockades mounted in late 2008 by the Algonquin community of
Barriere Lake.
Your presence in the courtroom is needed to show support for the
defendants and the struggle of Barriere Lake First Nation to hold the
federal and provincial governments accountable for their violation of
agreements they signed. As the community continues in their struggle
against the imposition of Indian Act governance, it is crucial to stand up
to oppose the ongoing criminalization of indigenous organizing and
solidarity.
Please come help pack the courtroom on July 2nd and 9:30am in Maniwaki.
The - courtroom is located at 266 rue Notre-Dame, Maniwaki (Québec), about
130 km north of Ottawa. Rides leave around 7am
Rides are being arranged from Ottawa. If you need a ride, or have a
vehicle and can offer to drive, please contact ipsmo at riseup.net.
