Thanks to everyone for making Wed's rally a success! There were also
rallies in Hamilton, London and Windsor on Wed. And on Thurs, Canada Day,
approx 1000 rallied in Montreal, and several thousand in Toronto.
According to an Angus Reid poll, 2/3 of Canadians and 73% of Torontonians
think that the police actions at the G20 were justified:

At this time we need to stand up, make some noise and make a collective
statement that we will not let these actions stand.
There will be another rally in Ottawa at the police station this Sunday at
2:30pm.

It's important to remember two things at this point:
1) "keep people fighting for rights they thought they had that way they
don't have time to protest what they came to fight for. hmm."~ Sara
Rodenhizer
Along with the police actions, there is also the problems with the G20
itself that we still need to stand up against. here are a couple links
with analysis of the G20 and what happened at the summit:

2) as one speaker noted at Wed's rally, police regularly brutalize,
dehumanize and violate the rights of people (including sex workers) living
in our communites
As Vancouver organizer Harsha Walia writes upon her release from detention
in Toronto: "We run the risk of exceptionalizing this moment, at the
expense of normalizing the daily violence of police and prisons and the
criminal (in)justice system for Indigenous communities, people of colour,
low income neighborhoods, street-involved youth, and trans people."
