The Barriere Lake demo on Monday was stirring, with over 100 community
members, as well as many supporters, in attendance. We've got the media
coverage below...

But first, we have exclusive no-cost access to research published by a
local activist/PhD student at Carleton, Kristen Gilchrist.

The research takes a critical look at the DIFFERENCES BETWEEN NEWS
COVERAGE FOR MISSING/MURDERED ABORIGINAL AND NON-ABORIGINAL WOMEN.

It was just published in the Feminist Media Studies publication, but the
author has provided us with a 'pre-print' version that you can download
for free.

(also includes a link to an interview with Kristen on her research)
